One of the regarded milestones in the history of the city of Rome was when it was able to transform its form of government into a Roman Republic.  Under the new governance, the Romans and its people were introduced with the actual separation of the government power and the rigid principle of check and balance.

The Roman Republic is the stage in the Roman history where the governance was ruled by a constitution; and when the time that it drastically needed a change, a new and innovative ruling mechanism was made – the Roman Empire stage.

The Roman Empire is substantially an autocratic based form of a government spanning from the European portion and all the Mediterranean surroundings.   The Empire of Rome is relatively a term that is used to describe the state of Rome during the time of the first ruler of Rome and the aftermath that it left the country.

During the Roman Republic, the government of Rome was little by little weakened by the many attempts to bring it down.  There were many civil wars that were initiated in the hope that they can overthrow the government.  These people who plot the whole plan became only successful after the government form has been radically shifted into a Roman Empire.

The change in the government of Rome paved the way to a better city of Rome.  For a while, there was a clear jurisdiction over matters that concern the government and the country.  The people of Rome were silently protesting the autocratic and dictatorial state of the country but on a certain degree, chaos and disorganization have been eliminated.

The economy of Rome started to grow and has become widely accessible to all sections of the status giving fair and just distribution in the resources of the city.  This is what the Roman Empire has been envisioning for a long time and the rulers of Rome under this new government became part of the successful history of the Roman Empire.

During the reigns of the great emperors Augustus and Trajan, the Roman Empire has substantially attained major territorial expansion specifically in the western and eastern part of the European section.  Although this has brought many Roman lives into waste, the vision of the great emperors was to gain dominance in both the economic and social aspects.

Although the Roman Empire was drastically experiencing defeat in their quest to achieve dominance in the world, the great emperors were seemingly unstoppable in their vision to achieve this.  Until such time that the Roman Empire felt that its structures were one by one collapsing that started in the Western Empire.

This part of the Roman history is considered to be one of the greatest marks in the pages of the history books.  And for people who like to travel and learn different histories, cultures, and heritage, the Roman Empire historical page of the city of Rome is one of the most commendable sightings.  The city of Rome has largely preserved the traces and marks that the Roman Empire has left.
