Known as the Stanze of Raphael, Raphael Rooms consists of four rooms that had been chosen by Julius II della Rovere, the Pope, to become his suite of apartments. You can see Raphael Rooms on the second floor of the Pontifical Palace. Pope Julius 11 had made Raphael Rooms as his own residence, which was also used by his successors later on.

For the record, Raphael Rooms and its picturesque decoration were created and carried out by Raphael himself, together with his students, from 1508 to 1524. Raphael Rooms consists of four rooms, built in the honor of four remarkable Romans of that time. The names of the four Raphael Rooms are:
1. Room of Constantine or the Sala di Costantino (“Hall of Constantine”)
2. Room of Heliodorus or Stanza di Eliodoro
3. Room of the Segnatura or Stanza della segnatura
4. Room of the Fire in the Borgo or Stanza dell’incendio del Borgo
Originally, the Raphael Rooms were only built as apartments for Pop Julius II. But as you get yourself inside each of the room, you will experience an apparent realization that the rooms are beyond ordinary rooms, they are sanctified rooms, redecorated and surrounded with powerful and artistic frescos by the great Raphael himself.
Until the present times, the frescoes that had witnessed the life of Pope Julius II and his successors remained to be there for the longest period of time.
